Programs & Services

24-Hour Crisis Line
Staffed by trained professionals, the 24-hour crisis line is available to provide immediate intervention, information and referrals to assist thousands of individuals affected by domestic violence annually.

Emergency Shelter
A 12-bed facility provides a safe shelter for women and their children who are escaping the atrocities of domestic violence each year. During their stay, all daily essentials for living are provided; on-site therapy, assistance with goal setting and 24-hour emotional support are also available.

Women's & Children's Therapy
Every year, professional, experienced clinicians provide guidance and therapy for victims of domestic violence in shelter and in our out-client programs. Special programs exist for children who have experienced, either directly or indirectly, violence in their lives. Individual and group counseling are available to both residential and non-residential women and children.

Legal Advocacy
The WCFOC employs two Legal Advocates to provide support and advocacy to victims of domestic violence during the often complex and confusing legal process. The advocacy program includes assistance with civil restraining orders, legal referrals, court accompaniment and general support navigating the criminal justice systems.

School Outreach
To continue to meet the needs of our community, the WCFOC has partnered with the Douglas County School District in providing classes for children who would otherwise be suspended from school. WCFOC staff provides educational groups and classes for K-12 students on domestic violence, self-esteem, conflict resolution and anger management.

Community Education & Volunteer Opportunities
Through community outreach and educational presentations, the WCFOC seeks to increase social awareness of the prevalence and devastating effects of domestic violence. Volunteer opportunities are available for individuals, families and businesses interested in making a personal impact on the community.
