Come and fill an empty bowl at this unique event that brings the community together, increases awareness, and raises needed funds for the crisis shelter and domestic violence issues. In March, we proudly host our annual Empty Bowl event at the Douglas County Events Center. Each year, local professional and hobbyist potters donate as many as two thousand beautiful handmade pottery bowls to this event. These bowls each signify the empty place that a victim who chooses to leave an abusive partner leaves at the dinner table. The Empty Bowl also features live entertainment Tickets are $40 in advance and $50 at the door, and include event attendance, a handmade pottery bowl of your choice and a simple meal of soups, breads and dessert provided by over 35 of Douglas County’s finest restaurants. Reserved tables for eight (which include dinner and bowls) are available for $350. Call Jaime Stevens at 303-688-1094 for more information about the event including sponsorships, food vendor opportunities, auction item donations and tickets.
